Inferiority Complex
Inferiority Complex: Inferiority Complex is a term used to describe people who compensate for feelings of inferiority - feeling like they're less than other people, not as good as others, worthless, etc... by acting ways that make them appear superior. They do this because controlling others may help them feel less personally inadequate.

A feeling of inferiority may be brought about by upbringing as a child (for example, being compared to a sibling), physical and mental limitations, or experiences of social discrimination (for example, having limited opportunities due to race, economic situation, or gender).

An Inferiority Complex may cause an individual to overcompensate for his weaknesses. For example, someone who feels inferior because he is shorter than average may become overly concerned with his appearance - he may go on a strict diet or engage in rigorous exercise, hoping that a slimmer body will make him appear taller. If this is taken to the extreme, it becomes a neurosis

Signs and Symptoms if Inferiority Complex
Ø  Hypocritical Attitude (H.P.): People who do not feel alright about themselves have problem feeling good about others.

Ø  Tendency Towards Blaming (T.T.B.): Some people project their weaknesses onto others in order to lessen and ameliorate the pain of inferiority.

Ø  Feeling Of Persecution (F.O.P.): when carried to the extreme, blaming others can extend to believing that others are actively seeking to ruin you.

Ø  Inappropriate Response To flattery (I.R.F.): This works in two forms. Some may refuse to listen to anything positive about themselves because it is inconsistent with their interior feelings. Others may be desperate to hear anything good about themselves and constantly fishing for compliments.

Ø  Devaluing Others: whenever i give a lecture anywhere i always find a person who knows nothing but insists on trying to prove me wrong.

Ø  Sensitivity To Criticism (S.T.C.): Although people who feel inferior ‘know’ they have shortcomings, they do not like other people to point this out.

Ø  Excessive anxiety: when the person who feels inferior doesn't manage to build the barriers i talked about he uses another mechanism which is excessive anxiety.

Ø  Tendency Towards Seclusion And Sensitivity (T.T.S.S.): Because people with an inferiority complex believe that they are not as interesting or intelligent as others, they believe other people have the same feeling about them.

Ø  Negative Feeling About Competition (N.F.A.C.): People who have inferiority complex like to win games and contests as others, but they will always avoid such situation because deep down, they know they cannot make an head way. Not coming first is an evident evidence of total failure.

Ø  Fault Finder:  Since you don't really feel good about yourself, you also have difficulty feeling good about others.

Ø  Destructive Criticism: These people know their flaws or shortcomings and yet, whenever they are being given an opionion they take it seriously and that will make them feel worse.

Ø  Tends To Be Timid On a Crowd: Those people who feels inferior has the tendency to create a hermit out of themselves, avoiding social gatherings and meetings. They would rather be alone in their own world than having the world know their flaws.

Ø  Flatter Me:  You want to always hear others complimenting how you look, how you did on that article, what you did great or what have you.

Ø  Don't Flatter Me:  You don't want to hear any compliment, even you really did well.

Ø  Un Healthy Competition: You really don't love competing with others but if you do, you'll find all ways on how you can outdo your competition.
